The Scientific Method

THE SCIENTIFIC METHODScientific Method.png
The Scientific Method is a process for experimentation that is used to answer questions and explore observations. Scientists use the scientific method to search for cause and effect relationships in nature. In other words, they design an experiment so that changes to one item cause something else to vary in a predictable way.
Just as it does for a professional scientist, the scientific method will help you to focus your science fair project question, construct a hypothesis, design, execute, and evaluate your experiment.

The above links to an article by TheOnion. To summarise, they are adding a step before ‘Ask a Question’ - ‘Access Profitability of Research’.This is to ensure that the scientists are not going to make a loss when doing their research. The other added step is after ‘Do Background Research’ - ‘Seek Funding’. After making an observation and forming a hypothesis, the new third step of the scientific method will require researchers to embark on a search for corporate or government financing.
